Hope you all had a good Thanksgiving -- even if you’re not in the United States! The team has today off. The team is starting on tactical battle work. We’ll be talking a great deal with you guys on the battle system in the coming weeks. Here’s an old sketch. If there was a game called Magic: Total War (request to the Creative Assembly – please make this) this is a bit what I’m picturing the tactical battles being a bit like. Players could zoom in as close as they’d ... [read more]

As mentioned recently, I occasionally get flame mails from people who don’t realize I work at Stardock. They think I’m trolling against Elemental. Part of our internal business plan includes analysis of the state of the products/services we make as well as the results of our customer survey. Last year, we made this report available to the public and based on the positive response we got for doing so, we’re doing the same again this year. View: St... [read more]

We actually made a fairly major change to the code this week so I thought that I'd actually write a dev journal about it: CodeCritter and I gutted the movement code and re-implemented it. For the developers out there, that meant creating a branch which generally makes me a bit nervous because I always worry that merging the branch back into the trunk is going to go poorly. But making a branch was essential in case it took us longer than a week to get the code to the po... [read more]
