Big Fat Pictures and Day 0 reporting
Finally getting to actually PLAY the game some. I’ve got a huge list of tweaks already for the day 0 build. I play at really high resolution so this is what my screens looked like: In this game, I’m slowly wearing Kraxis down. Which means I’m unhappy because it means I need to do more AI work. Bear in mind, when I play I play at normal where the AI gets the same resources. If I wanted to get creamed, I’d just push up the difficulty but I want the AI to be very int... [read more]

In its beta phase, the game has been somewhat hard to grasp, but I've learned quite a bit since my last journey, so here is part two of my "beta journals." Note I will be skipping over the less interesting bits for your sanity and enter... [read more]

Joystiq Preview of Elemental: War of Magic
Joystiq was given a look at a preview of Elemental: War of Magic, and has published their preview of the game. “Stardock's Elemental: War of Magic is already extraordinary, smashing genres together that may have been too big on their own in the first place. At its heart, it's a 4X game in the style of Civ or Galactic Civilizations, but it's also a fantasy RPG with a deep and long story, and a tactical battle game. It has a huge singleplayer campaign, a sandbox mode that creates g... [read more]

We’re wrapping up work on the gold version of Elemental. Then it’s on to the day 0 version which is largely about polish, balance and tweaking. Update: The team let me know that there is one more tweak being made that would affect this screenshot that isn't in my build and that's the font face is different in the final gold versus what I have on my machine.
